Cybersecurity affects everyone. People shop online, bank online, and communicate with friends and family online. Much of our global financial system runs on computers, and even our government’s most sensitive military technology depend on computers. Given these facts, it’s not hard to see the importance of keeping computers and the information that is stored on them safe. It affects us, our families, and our national security. This is what the field of cybersecurity is about, and will be the focus of this blog.

My name is Nicholas Domanico. I’m a cybersecurity student, Linux nerd, animal lover, and Christian. I have had an interest in computers since I was a teenager, when I got a Raspberry Pi for Christmas. This introduced me to the world of Linux and coding, and sparked my lifelong interest in computers.

The Goal of this Blog 🔨

I believe having resources to learn cybersecurity and keep up with security developments is important. The goal of this blog is to provide just that. In this blog, I will be discussing a wide range of cybersecurity-related topics, including industry developments, news, security frameworks, and tools.

A major focus of this blog will be hands-on learning with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and firewalls in a homelab. A homelab is a fantastic way to gain practical experience with security tools, operating systems, networking technology, servers, and much more.

My sincere hope is that you find this blog helpful in your cybersecurity journey.
